The Glenwood Estates neighborhood association welcomes you to our community. We hope to provide information that makes your life easier and brings our community together. As you’ve probably heard, the city is creating a new master plan for Glenlake Park, in preparation for spending over $1.5 million in bond funds for improvements. The first public input meeting was held earlier this month, and the three remaining meetings are listed on the website below. If you were unable to attend the first meeting, but would like to give your input to the process (very important!), please fill out the community interest form and send it in as soon as possible.

Upcoming Neighborhood Events

Please mark your calendars (busy this time of year!) for a neighborhood meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 12th at 7:30pm, location TBA. We will discuss the treasurer's report, Glenlake Park master planning process and our plans for next year. Please let me know if you have anything to add to the agenda. Everyone is welcome.

Through everyone's generosity, we were able to sponsor 33 children for Christmas Decatur, our most ever! Many thanks to all who participated.

Clairemont Elementary School, 155 Erie Avenue, Decatur, GA, is hosting its 15th Annual Decatur Holiday Marketplace and Café on Friday and Saturday, December 7 & 8, 2007. The event, a fundraiser for Clairemont PTA, showcases more than 95 artists and craftspeople selling their wares in a festive setting during the holiday season.

The Café, located in the school's cafeteria, features homemade soups and baked goods, as well as live music from local musicians such as Decatur's favorite Cajun band Hair of the Dog, Decatur bluesman and spoken-word artist Kodac Harrison, and much-loved holiday music by 'The Senseless Act of Caroling'.

The Marketplace will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, December 7, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. p.m. Saturday, December 8. It is held in conjunction with the Decatur Tour of Homes.
